We need your input so that we can continue to thrive and remain relevant to our community.

PLEASE PLAN TO ATTEND

The National League is asking local Leagues all over the United States to help shape their direction for the next 2 years (2026 - 2028).

This year, we will provide much more time and effort for discussion of our local League’s direction for the coming year, beginning in July, 2026.

While only League members can vote, we encourage you to invite friends and family who are not yet members to participate, giving them an opportunity to learn about the League.

Issues on Immigration: Keeping Communities Safe

As we are bombarded with news and images of federal immigration actions, and our friends, neighbors and colleagues live in fear, watch this recording of a live event and learn about actions being taken at the local level to assist those directly impacted in this uncertain environment.

Speakers include:
James Wood, retired attorney speaking about sanctuary cities.
Christopher Martinez, Executive Director of the East Bay Spanish Speaking Citizens’ Foundation, an immigrant and refugee advocacy group.
Alyssa Simpson, Immigration Attorney working with Alameda County Legal Immigration and Education Partnership (ACLIEP).

The event was held Saturday, December 6, 2025 at
Niles Discovery Church
in Fremont.

While this and all League programs remain FREE, we gratefully accept donations.

The League of Women Voters

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan, grassroots organization
working to protect and expand voting rights
and ensure everyone is represented in our democracy.

We empower voters and defend democracy through
advocacy, education, and litigation, at the local, state and national levels.

Through our advocacy organization we: study issues, crate policies
and take action on those issues on which we have established a policy.

The Youth Voter Movement is a nonpartisan effort
to ensure youth have a voice in the future of this country.

We host student-led registration drives at
high schools, colleges, and other venues.

We also help with “Get Out the Vote” efforts to ensure that
young adults are showing up on Election Day to cast their ballot.
